The automotive lighting market is recently witnessing rapid shifts toward LED applications, while the automotive LED market is expanding its coverage from conventional application with interior lamps like switch indicators and room lights to exterior lamps such as DRL (daytime running lights), fog lamps, signaling lamps, and rear combination lamps.

Automotive LED components require greater reliability than their counterparts used in general lighting applications, since performance and functions need to be sustained under severe outdoor conditions.

Against this backdrop, the Samsung Electronics LED Business Team is engaged in a variety of reliability tests under AEC Q102, the international standard for automotive components, as well as verification tests to prevent defects.
